Selle Italia Turbo saddle: First introduced in 1980, the Selle Italia Turbo ruled the 80's and early 90's peloton. The saddle has slight anatomical contours and dense but somewhat generous padding. If you're not counting grams, it's a great choice. The Turbo has truly stood up to the test of time and the last of the great pre-Flite era saddles. Puch Vent Noir II., 1983: The Vent Noir Series were among those elegant bicycles made bearing the 'Puch' or 'Austro-Daimler' head badge metal plaque. AD was a very nice Swiss brand, and the parent company of Puch. The "Black Wind "was near the top of the AD line. But by about 1983 the Austro-Daimler Vent Noir II sold bear the Puch head badge. European market 'Puch' Vent Noir ten speed bicycles were originally provided with Shimano Dura Ace components with parts of these anodized black (the chain rings were done specially for that model) Weinmann hubs and wheel rims, and with 'Regina Oro' cassette and chain in gold finish. The Vent Noir II frames were assembled in Austria incorporating Reynolds 531 (pronounced "five-three-one") Manganese-Molybdenum alloy tube stock sourced from 'Tubes Investments Reynolds Limited' of Birmingham, England. They had Shimanon tips and drop-outs. The frame of the Vent Noir II were chromed, treated with a process that produced the dark golden green 'smoked chrome' appearance. All forks and frames in the Austro-Daimler and Puch line were silver brazed by hand. Fully restored, in excellent condition. A collector's dream!

Campagnolo Record Pista vintage pedal set: Choosing a set of Campagnolo cage pedals is not completely emotional, it's also very reasonable. No need to talk about bearing quality, because that's always superb if you choose Record. The difference between Pista and Strada: they are the same, except for the part of the cage on the outside, near the dust cap. Strada pedals (for road use) have a continuous cage that goes around the dust cap. Pista pedals don't have this cage at the sides. In banked corners, these sides may hit against the track surface. Steel axle version. They are in great shape, so scratches on the ouside plastic nut, but the bearings are smooth and the structure is near perfect condition. New NOS Campagnolo leather straps and aluminum clips. Very rare to find in this condition.

These also had a way of effectively altering your crank length (+/- 2.5mm?) by moving the bearings relative to the body. One of the coolest vintage pedals of all time! Used but in excellent condition, Alfredo Binda leather straps, original cage. Very rare, a real collector's gem! Sannino vintage Time Trial bike, 700c/24", fully restored: Sannino is an Italian brand built by Mauro Sannino. He was taught framebuilding by his grandfather and spent about 10 years apprenticing to other framebuilders before starting his own business in 1979. He earned his reputation by supplying bicycles to the Polish and Russian national teams. (In the excellent film "American Flyers" the Russian team are riding Sannino frames.) Production was fairly limited, with about 1500 frames per year in the mid-1980s. A trademark of many Sannino models were steeper geometries. Seventy-five degree seat tubes and seventy-seven degree head tubes were used on the mid-1980s Professional model! Mauro Sannino is now building the Corratec frames in Munich Germany. He moved away from Turin about 10 years ago. This time trial bike was a very popular model in the early 1980's, the small, 24" front wheel size was used by F. Moser, who set th hour record. It helps to decrease wind drag, and allows a more aerodynamic body position. The size of this Sannino is 57-58 cm "translated" to a conventional road frame. 700c/24" wheels, fully functional, but since not many cyclist can use such an extreme body position, it is best hung on the wall and admired!

Christophe MINI pedal toe clips with protector, NOS: The sprung chromed steel clip of which the Christophe was the most widely used, reigned supreme from the early 1930’s until the 1990’s with the move to clipless pedals. Named after the French rider, Eugene Christophe, who is probably the most famous Tour de France rider never to have actually won the Tour, due his habit of breaking forks when in the lead. A core part of early Tour mythology is that in 1919 he was given penalty points for having assistance from the blacksmith’s boy who operated the bellows during the repair. Christophe produced half /mini clips which did not need toestraps. They were marketed as either for the novice or for town riding. In the 70's and 80's Christophe produced protector strips, black rubber sleeves edged in blue, for fitting on the toeclip bends for this purpose. Here some info about toe clip lenght sizing: Small - 43mm, Medium - 55mm, Large - 65mm, XL - 75mm. NOS (Available medium.)

It has an aluminum wedge, 80 mm long, approximately 100 mm can be exposed above the headset with the Technomatic Deluxe stem. The bonus: it's pantographed for DeRosa bikes, so it's a perfect match for those sweet Primato and Signiture models! And of course the quality of these stems is at least as good if not better than any of the Cinelli or 3TTT stems. Made in Japan, NOS

Campagnolo Shamal 12 HPW CLINCHER(!) rim, NOS: One major area in which Campagnolo outperforms that other company is wheels. In case of the early 1990's Shamals the rim extrusion is similar to the famous standard production (e.g. Atlanta) rims but a little heavier to account for the increased tension of the fewer number of spokes. Campagnolo had the rim technology to deliver cutting edge rims that other manufacturers lacked. The aero section rim is all aluminum and it is 41mm deep and 19mm wide. The graphics were simple black letters in the early 1990's, SHAMAL, and script Campagnolo. Shamal HPW-12 wheels came later in 1994, and had a little pink in the graphics. There is a special tool is needed to true the wheels. It reaches down into the rim to tighten a 5.5mm nut/nipple. Just one of these Shamal 12 HPW CLINCHER rim left, 12 holes, 620 gr, CLINCHER type, NOS.
